Framing project
Explore a shed from the frame up.

Start with Stud’s shed example to explore a floor, framed walls, openings, sheathing, and a gable roof. The sample has a 10-by-8-foot platform. Treat it as a model to study and adapt.
1. Open the sample
In your desktop conversation, ask for the bundled shed example in its own project folder:
Use Stud to create a new project from the shed example. Name the project my-shed and open its viewer. Show me the platform dimensions and the floor, framing, sheathing, and roof assemblies.
Let the first build finish before reviewing the model. Ask the assistant to explain the orientation of the shed so “front” and “right” mean the same thing in your requests.
2. Look through the walls
Open Parts and hide Sheathing with its visibility control. Orbit the view to inspect the wall framing. Toggle the floor and roof assemblies as needed to see their connections.
Show me the framing around the door and window. Identify the opening dimensions and the members above and below them.
Look up at the roof framing
Expand Roof in the Parts panel. Hide its sheathing and gable panels to see the rafters and ridge. Select a rafter to review its dimensions, then ask about the places it meets the wall frame:
Show me the roof framing without the panels. Identify the ridge, rafters, and bearing points. Explain which connections are modeled and what still needs to be detailed.
3. Make one measured change
Write down the size and location you want before asking for a revision. Preserve the rest of the model so the effect is easy to review.
Make the window opening 6 inches wider, keeping its center and sill height fixed. Keep the platform and roof dimensions unchanged. Update the surrounding framing and save a checkpoint. Explain any other parts that needed to change.
4. Review the result
Compare the original and revised checkpoints in Versions. Check the opening dimensions, adjacent framing, and revised material quantities. Restore the sheathing view to see how the opening passes through the wall.
Before turning this study into a build, review the foundation, loads, connections, weather protection, and local requirements with the appropriate professional. Stud’s geometry checks do not establish structural capacity.
